Bentonite

Principal Uses

• Premium Grade, Wyoming Bentonite (Sodium Montmorillonite). Specially blended and beneficiated for fast mixing, better hole stability and extra high yield viscosity.

• Eliminates seepage loss to permeable zones and greatly reduces lost circulation conditions. Primary ingredient used with foam to make gel-foam drilling fluid . Dry product can be sprinkled on the bottom and sides of a dug-out, ditch or depression to form a waterproof barrier for use as a holding pit.

• Produces tough, leather-like filter cake on bore hole for excellent hole stability . Enhances fluid loss characteristics to protect permeable and friable formation s.

• Extra High Yield means less quantity required to yield high viscosity and g reater hole cleaning.

Mixing

• Water should be fresh (no calcium or salt) and neutral pH (7.0). Add Soda ash if required to adjust calcium and pH.

• Turn mixer on high and add 50 pounds. Extra High Yield Bentonite per 250 gallons of water.

• Pour Bentonite into turbulent water at a rate of 3 min. per bag. Increase the amount of Bentonite added if conditions require.

Packaging

• 50 Pounds, commonly 70 bags per skid. Packaged in a strong, multi-walled paper bag with moisture barrier lining
